Welcome to the sale of my 1970 Opel Gt 1900. This car was originally imported from California in 2002, hence it is totally rust free. The car has had a total nut and bolt rebuild using either new or reconditioned parts by the previous enthusiast owner, who was a retired engineer.
Engine - reconditioned engine with top and bottom rebuild, including all new hoses, wiring and cables, also rebuilt carb, new clutch, distributor etc. The engine runs lovely and performs as it should. The engine bay sparkles, you could eat your dinner off of it.
Chassis - the whole underneath of the car is fantastic and totally rust free, no welding, painted body colour underneath including inside the wheel arches, new shocks, suspension and exhaust, it sparkles just like the engine bay.
Wheels and brakes - unusually for these cars it still has its original wheels which have had a lovely refurb and look like new, 4 new tyres, discs, pads, pipes etc.
Exterior - the body has had a bare metal re spray in original orange, the headlamp flip mechanism has been replaced, they work perfectly. Cold do with a re chrome on the rear quarter bumpers.
Interior - new carpets, gauges and switches etc. Needs a headlining and a few bits of trim fixing but nothing that a bit of tlc wouldn't sort out.
In conclusion this is a stunning Opel Gt, probably one of the best in the UK today. It is totally rust free and always has been, it starts and drives exactly as it should, it just looks fabulous all over. Criticisms I would have is it needs a few small jobs doing, ie the trim bits and pieces, Rev counter has stopped working, maybe a chrome on the rear bumpers ( I think it adds a bit of character), the paintwork is a little bit of a let down, the Orange looks very thin in places up close which is a shame as it truly is a beautiful car and an awful lot of time and money has been spent on this car. This car was bought from a dealer last year for £12000. You will struggle to find a better example.
