Group A RS500 Sierra For Sale (1989)
Price: £150000 Or near offer
Built for the 1989 Endurance season, GSR002 was kept predominantly as spare car until the 1991 Australian Touring Car Championship season, after one of the GSR Sierra's copped a shunt at Lakeside Raceway. After a few years playing catch up to the DJR Sierra's, the GSR team really clicked in 1992. Throughout the season, they matched and occasionally bettered the DJR Sierra's, Godzilla's and M3's. Of a long and storied career, she won the 1992 "Winfield Triple Challenge", 1992 Symmons Plains ATCC round and was driven by 1980 F1 champ Alan Jones at the 1992 AGP F1 support round (amongst others).
With only two careful owners after the GSR team, she looks great in original paint and signage and still has its 1992 scrutineering stickers, which is a very nice touch. GSR002 also comes with it's original logbook and current CAMS COD (GOLD CLASS) and Historic Group A logbook.
She has always had money lavished on her and sports the following;
A relatively new H6S Holinger 6 speed (One of only a handful of RS500's to feature this 1991 onwards allowance).
New brake discs & hats,
Reconditioned Harrop 9" Differential,
Reconditioned fuel system,
Ran Autronic in period and still does (This is a very good feature, ask me about it.)
A very nice addition is brand new Glenn Seton suspension. Glenn, a multiple ATCC winning champion, is still regarded as one of Australia's best set-up guys and a good bloke to boot.
The motivated seller is keen to get a deal done and will look at trades involving Group A BMW M3's.
