DetailsThe AC 3000 ME was offered for sale by AC Cars between 1979 and 1984. Only 76 examples were produced before the Thames Ditton factory doors closed in 1984. A further 30 cars were built under licence by a new company called AC Scotland, including a development car tested with an Alfa Romeo engine, but this company folded in 1985. The 3000ME is mid engined, with the 3.0 litre Ford Essex V6 mounted transversely over a custom AC designed gearbox with Hewland internals. The car features a steel chassis making extensive use of square-section steel tube with a strong monocoque for the central portion of the body. This framework supports a body made of good quality fibreglass.
