Stunning Ferrari SuperAmerica LHD For Sale (2006)
- Car: Ferrari Superamerica
This Ferrari SuperAmerica was sold new by Classic Automobile in Murnau (Germany) on March 21 2006. The car has seen its servicing at Classic Automobile first and later at Mille Miglia Motors in Starnberg (Germany). The car has seen reasonable use with currently slightly over 53,000 km on the odometer. This is undeniably more than some of the ultra-low kilometers SuperAmericas that are sometimes advertised, but then again, in my opinion a Ferrari needs to be used regularly but sparingly in order to keep it in good condition.
The Rosso Corsa paintwork is in near immaculate condition, with only some scuff marks at the bottom lip of the front bumper spoiler. There are no dents or scratches anywhere in the bodywork. Laser straight panels without any sign of accident damage are further testimony to the true calibre of this Ferrari. A intriguing detail is the carbon fibre weaving which is delicately visible through the paintwork of the bootlid, just like it was when the car left the Maranello factory.
Leonardo Fioravanti's patented "Revochromic" roof is undeniably the big draw of the SuperAmerica. This car has benefited from an upgrade to a second generation roof, which does not suffer from the dreaded delamination which often occurs on first generation roofs. It opens and closes flawlessly, turning this stunning GT coupe into a flamboyant convertible in the span of 10 seconds.
Mounted on the unique-for-the-SuperAmerica five-spoke 19 inch wheels are very good Bridgestone Potenza tyres with plenty of thread left. The brake pads and brake disks are all in good usable condition, giving this fantastic Ferrari ample stopping power.
The black leather interior has kept up extremely well, with only the typical light scuffing marks on the seat bolsters. None of the switches show any of the stickiness sometimes found on Ferraris of that era and all of them are in perfect working order. Carpets and overcarpets are just as they should be.
Mechanically this Ferrari is just beyond reproach. The phenomenal V12 engine has received its last big service at 53258 km in September 2014, at which time the timing belts were also replaced. The F1 gearbox performs flawlessly in both Automatic as well as Manual mode. The car drives and stops straight, doesn't pull to either side and feels extremely taut and confident at any speed. All options on this car (air conditioning, electric memory seats, tyre pressure monitor, ...) work as they should.
Of course the factory original toolkit, car cover, seat covers, car cover bag, all manuals, and the original keys and remotes come with this SuperAmerica.
The Ferrari SuperAmerica is undeniably an excellent drivers car with huge investment potential. Prices for the regular 550 and 575 have been soaring recently. Testarossa, 512TR and F512M prices are also going through the roof. The SuperAmerica, with only 559 units made, surely is one of the safest bets currently on the Ferrari market. Given the fact that only a handful of these cars are available at any given time, it is not surprising that this Ferrari can be marketed worldwide. This car is located in Belgium and can be shipped almost anywhere in the world to its new owner.
